NETBALL:
OLDHAM Netball Club continued their flying start to the season with a 58-42 win at Turnford in the National Premier League.
A fine defensive effort and clinical shooting saw the visitors race into an early 8-0 lead. Even when Turnford got on the board, Oldham kept piling up the goals and ended the first quarter in a commanding position (18-6).
Such was Oldham’s dominance, coach Debbie Hallas was able give valuable court time to all her squad, which included Amy Neild and Abby Tyrrell. The changes did little to halt the away side’s flow as they moved into 35-14 lead.
More changes followed and Oldham slowed but were never in danger. Turnford had a better second half, but Oldham, with their shooters in top form were simply too good.
This weekend’s match at Hathershaw College gets underway at 1pm.
