Depleted Rangers refuse to lie down

WITH only 13 players, Saddleworth Rangers can be proud of their efforts at York Acorn in Division One of the Kingstone Press National Conference League.
Though Craig Farrimond’s side was beaten 54-20, they were in touching distance of their hosts in the early stages of the second half.
Basement team Rangers fought back from a 22-point deficit to only 26-20 down by the 47th minute.
It was a great effort from the visitors, who saw full-back Robert Kilvin, stand-off Jack Bradbury,
centre Danny Bowker and winger Sam Hart dive in. Ben Whitehead kicked two goals.
Rangers were unable to get their noses in front, though, and Acorn checked the recovery with a flurry of points.
