CRICKET: 

SHADLEY van Schalkwyk, professional at Heyside for the last two seasons, has been appointed pro at Northern League side St Anne’s for 2016.

Van Schalkwyk had to fly home before the end of the Lake Garage CLL season because of visa problems, but initially expressed a desire to return to Little Hey Street.

But St Anne’s has stepped in to secure his services in what could be the Northern League’s last season before the majority of its clubs tie up with the expanding Lancashire League.
