Wild defeated in China

MIchael Wild: not this time
SNOOKER:
A TRIP to the Far East that promised so much ended up an anti-climax for Moorside pro Michael Wild.
Having beaten superstar Judd Trump 6-0 in the qualifier for the International Championship in Daqling, China, Wild was himself on the wrong end of a whitewash at the hands of Sanderson Lam from Leeds.
Their last-64 clash had been expected to be a tight affair, but Wild could not get a foothold in the match as his skilful opponent kept him away from the table for lengthy periods.
Wild and fellow Oldham professional Hamza Akbar will now focus on the UK Championship at
York’s Barbican centre at the end of next month.
