FOOTBALL:
THERE was a night of drama and incident at Seel Park as Mossley crushed Tameside rivals Droylsden 5-1 in a delayed Evo-Stik League Division One North clash.
Mitchell Bryant, Andy Keogh and an absolutely comical own-goal from Droylsden's Craig Ellison – the 'keeper inadvertently side-footed the ball into his own net in a botched clearance attempt – handed the Lilywhites a 3-0 lead inside half an hour, the shell-shocked Bloods pulling one back shortly before half-time.
Bryant's second goal in the 56th minute signalled the end for 'keeper Ellison, who was immediately
substituted by Droylsden boss Dave Pace, before Tom Dean sealed things with 15 minutes left.
CHADDERTON were thumped 4-1 at home by Northwich Manchester Villa in the North-West Counties League First Division. Sean Sherwood fired Chaddy into an early lead, before they crumbled. Chaddy travel to Atherton LR on Saturday.
