Scrappy win for netball girls

NETBALL:
OLDHAM’S North-West Premier League squad were missing several regular players for the trip to Blackpool.
And though they won 49-37, they made a number of errors in the opening quarter.
Leading by two goals at the first break, Oldham stepped on the gas with Amber Hazelton leading the way as captain. Rebecca Hope and Victoria Austin continually found the shooters, while the defence turned over possession time and again.
The lead was 27-16 at half way, which Oldham increased by three with a quarter remaining (40-26).
Oldham, who awarded a debut to Kimberley Meadows at goal shooter, threw a lot of the ball away in the final quarter, but the result was never in doubt.
