Oldham soak up victory

NETBALL:
OLDHAM Netball Club welcomed back experienced shooter Krista Enziano and returned from Bath with all five national premier league points after a 59-48 win.
The visitors started well, and a strong defensive unit of Emma Dovey, Abby Tyrrell and Kerry Almond pressured the Bath shooters into errors. They snapped up rebounds, quickly passed to shooters who coolly slotted home for a healthy lead at the break.
Seventeen-year-old Iona Darroch made her Premier League debut in the second quarter and the teenager started well, linking well with both attack and defence.
Oldham lost composure in the early part of the third quarter, which allowed Bath to narrow the gap, but quality work from Darroch and Maria McAndrew saw them reassert their authority.
