Rifle back on the right track

FOOTBALL: OLDHAM Sunday League champions Rifle appear to be firing on all cylinders again after a slow start to the season.
Their latest fixture ended in a thumping 6-0 win against Crown. James Curley (two), Carl Beamish, Niall Sultan, Andrew Walker and Callum Standring were on the mark.
Fitton Hill defeated Westwood 4-1 thanks to strikes from Ashley Ainsworth, Aaron Murdoch, Callum Franklin and Eden Goldie. Delwar Hussain replied.
In the Challenge Cup, Coppice United triumphed 7-3 at Royton Athletic courtesy of goals from Yasir ali (three), Shabir Ali, Naveed Butt, Azuka Otutu and Waqas Younis.
Danny Hitchens (two) and Jack Bolton registered for Athletic.
David Giblin Division One action saw FC Failsworth edge out Legends of Lees 4-3 thanks to Daniel Hurst, Daryl Lawrence, Nicky Caine and Kyle Barber. Dave Hodgkins (two) and G Armstead netted for Legends.
Jack McGarry, Ben Maher and Ian Bowers scored for Springhead Libs as they won 3-2 at Chaddy Cott, for whom Sean Morrow and Dave Jarvis replied.
Alt Athletic – with Carl Diveney and Liam Tupman on target – drew 2-2 with High Crompton Victoria.
Danny Else and Matthew Mills scored for the Vics.
Britannia defeated White House 7-3 in Martin Buckley Division Two courtesy of goals from Connor Kerrigan (two), Jordan Hall (two), Shaun Renshaw, Terence Melia and Danny Whittaker.
Brent Brannick, Matt Bowyer and Jordan Holt struck for White House.
