Wild, Akbar on UK glory trail

OLDHAM professionals Michael Wild and Hamza Akbar will this week launch their bid for glory in the Betway UK Snooker Championship at York’s Barbican Centre.
Akbar, who is based at Oldham Snooker Academy and lives in Werneth, takes on former dual world champion Mark Williams of Wales on Wednesday at 9.30am.
And Wild, of Moorside, also has Welsh opposition in the shape of Dominic Dale.
Their match takes place on Thursday at 7.30pm.
