CROMPTON House Year 10s are out of the English Schools’ Football Association Under-15 PlayStation Schools’ Cup after suffering a narrow 2-0 third round defeat against Wilmslow High School.
The first half was evenly contested and the score remained goalless at the break, but the home side increased the pressure after the restart with two strikes to sink the local youngsters.
North Chadderton Year Nines failed to make it through to the fifth round of the ESFA Under-14 Playstation Schools’ Cup when they went down 2-0 to Penistone Grammar School, from Barnsley.
The sides were deadlocked at the break, but the South Yorkshire side won through thanks to late goals from Mason Butcher and Will Lancaster.
Failsworth Year Nines are also out of the prestigious national knock-out competition after suffering a tense 3-2 reverse against Horizon Community College, also from Barnsley.
