TONGE BC slipped to a disappointing defeat 8-7.5 at Richmond in the Greater Manchester Super League despite wins for M Gillies (21-10), J Derby (21-18), M Brooks (21-10), B Walker (21-20) and G Ellis (21-12).
Next up for Tonge is a trip to St Joseph’s (Chorley) on Wednesday.
TIME is running out to enter the £3,000 Moorside Classic which has vacancies on July 31, and August 1, 7, 8, 14 and 15.
The finals will be held on August 22. Practice on each night is from 6pm, with the start at 6.30.
Entry fee is £15 and cheques, made payable to Moorside Cricket and Bowling Club, should be sent with choice of date and SAE, to: Geoff Woolley, 115, Turf Pit Lane, Moorside, Oldham, OL4 2ND.
THE Thwaites Mens Pairs event continues at Norden Bowling club on Sunday when the draw is:
C Chapman/E Ralphson v H Hargreaves/R Horman; M Connolly/E Davies v A N Other; B Hart/ R Mack v M Bellinger/G Melia; A N Other v A Farghar/E Gard.
Practice 5pm, start 5.30.
Last week’s qualifiers were P Fielden and B Collinge (Syke) who beat A Mather and M Mitchell (Bamford) 21-10.
Also at the same venue, and time, is the AC Ventilation Ltd Ladies Pairs event for which the draw is:
J Jackson/S Beglin v F Farghar/M Gard; J Hart/N Edwards v L & T Fardon.
Last week’s qualifiers: J Jolly/K Garnett (Preston) beat M Carson/M Halzedine (Whitworth) 21-9.
