FOOTBALL: OLDHAM Sunday League action was severely hit by the awful weather.
There was one game in the Challenge Cup competition - a real thriller as Limeside Athletic thumped Manchester Swifts 7-3.
Daniel Robson bagged a hat-trick for the Swifts, but it was in vain as Dave Shaw (two), James Winterbottom, Shaun Lowther, Jack Lowther, Connor Berry and Dale Heathcote struck for Athletic.
Crown continue to go well in the Jack Abbott Premier Division. Their latest win was by the comfortable margin of 7-0 against Westwood.
Kiel Jackson (three), Jordan Knapman-Fields (two), Reece Hlden and Danny O’Keefe pounced for Crown.
Oldham GPO’S Mike King scored both goals in a 2-2 draw with Carrion Crow.
Tony Lloyd and Daniel Fitzhugh replied.
Only one more game survived, and that was in Martin Buckley Division Two. The thriller saw Horseshoe beat Oldham XI by the odd goal in 11!
