TABLE TENNIS:
OLDHAM’s veterans team recorded a magnificent 7-3 victory at Chester and Ellesmere Port in their latest Inter-League clash.
It was Chester’s first loss at home for years, with Barry Elliot at the forefront of the visitors’ achievements with a sparkling treble and good support from Ian Mclean and Nick Mooney.
The ‘A’ team went down 6-4 against Bolton, but was inconvenienced by a hamstring injury to Stuart Meredith as this gave away three games.
Dave Cheetham scored a brilliant treble in the reverse and there was also a singles win for Rob Carter.
The ‘B’ team hosted Kendal ‘A’ and bagged an emphatic 10-0 whitewash, thanks to trebles from Andy Hey, George Jones and Joe Redikin.
