WATCH AND LEARN . . . Luke Kelly shows his skills to a coaching group at Marriott Worsley Park, led by Gareth Benson and Lancashire officials Andrew Barr and Vinny Doyle.
GOLF: SOME of Lancashire’s up and coming young players enjoyed a superb coaching experience at the excellent facilities provided by Marriott Worsley Park.
The players involved are looking to make their mark in the county’s junior squads and they were able to show their skills on the practice areas and the course. Looking on were county coaches and officials, including junior chairman Andrew Barr.
Ashton-under-Lyne’s England star Luke Kelly was also in attendance, and was used as a model by the coaches to display the work and practice youngsters have to put in to achieve his status.
It was a great step in the development of the group, who will be looking to develop their skills during the winter months as they aim to make the county squads in 2016.
Meanwhile, the latest Sunday Stableford event at Ashton went to Callum O’Neill, who returned 43 points. The runner-up on a card play-off was Mike Mannell (40pts), from Brendan Kennedy (40pts).
