NON-LEAGUE FOOTBALL: MOSSLEY hung on to take a first win in four games as they defeated struggling Ossett Town 2-1.
At a rainy, windswept Seel Park, the Lilywhites were two clear at the interval thanks to strikes from the two Toms – Dean and Pratt.
Roy Fogarty replied 10 minutes after the restart for the Yorkshiremen, but Mossley defended stoutly in the closing stages as they sealed a precious victory.
The three points lifted the Lilywhites a couple of places in the table to eighth. They return to action on Saturday when they play host to Ossett Albion.
CHADDERTON’S recent mini-resurgence in the North-West Counties League First Division came to an end as they were defeated 2-0 at high-flying Northwich Manchester Villa.
Callum McGlynn broke the deadlock 10 minutes after half-time, before veteran Villa front-man Gavin Salmon sealed victory shortly before the final whistle.
Chadderton play host to Atherton LR in their next match on Saturday.
