Fields derby clash set for green light

Secretary of Hollinwood ARLFC Fred Halliwell has high hopes Saturday’s Pennine League derby clash at home to Higginshaw will take place.
Halliwell said he is 90 per cent certain the Division Three West contest will go ahead - and hopes for a good crowd at Fields New Road for the 2pm kick-off.
Hollinwood’s game last weekend at home to Newsome Panthers fell foul of the wet weather.
“The league said matches should be called off if there was a danger playing would damage the pitch.
“Seventy per cent of it was holding water. To play would have churned it up.”
