NON-LEAGUE FOOTBALL: MOSSLEY joint-boss Peter Band has challenged his players to go on a long unbeaten run in Evo-Stik League Division One North.
This time last year the Lilywhites hovered mid-table - then went on an undefeated streak that lasted until March. By the end of the season they missed the play-offs by two points.
Band said: “We’ve no suspensions or injuries to worry about so there’s no reason we can’t put a run together.”
The Lilywhites host fourth-placed Ossett Albion tomorrow in what promises to be a tough game.
Last weekend Band’s men hung on to beat Ossett Town 2-1 at Seel Park. Band said: “We should have been five or six up by half-time (the scorewas 2-0).
“We hit a post, the crossbar, missed one-on-ones. They should have been dead and buried. In the end we were hanging on.
“Hopefully we can start as well against Albion, but they’re a team who have done well recently.
Mossley were beaten 3-2 at Albion earlier this season.
CHADDERTON’S recent mini-revival was halted last weekend when they were beaten at Northwich Manchester Villa.
But the Broadway outfit has a great chance to bounce back tomorrow when playing host to an Atherton LR side that has lost its last four matches.
Supporters can check on the game’s status on 07506 104005.
