Buckley steps up with fine hat-trick

DARRYL Meredith was on the mark for Honeywell ‘A’ against Saddleworth.
TABLE TENNIS: MATCH of the day in Division One of the Oldham and District Table Tennis League was the 5-5 draw between Saddleworth ‘B’ and Honeywell ‘A’.
Nathan Buckley of Saddleworth displayed a massive improvement in form to complete a treble over strong opponents.
On the negative side for Saddleworth, Paul King lost ground in the race for most wins in only being able to clinch one victory, with team-mate Matty Evans also registering.
Honeywell’s winners were Phil Myers (two), Darryl Meredith and Marcus McNulty.
It’s tight at the top in Division Two. Leaders Coldhurst ‘A’ shared the spoils in a 5-5 draw with Unison ‘B’. Simon King notched a hat-trick, with Wayne Carter bagging a single.
For the opposition, Brian Hallsworth and Jacob Reilly-Cooper both secured doubles. Brian Huskinson added the other.
Hollinwood ‘B’ took advantage of this slip to narrow the gap to a couple of points at the top of the table with a 9-1 defeat of Deaf ‘A’. George Jones and Peadar McKinstry recorded maximums.
