’Wood washout

RUGBY: HEAVY rain thwarted Hollinwood in their attempt to play local rivals Higginshaw in Division Three West of the Pennine League.
Secretary Fred Halliwell was hoping the game at Fields New Road would go ahead, but an inspection of the ground on Saturday morning found it to be holding too much water.
Hollinwood are due to host bottom side Emley Moor on Saturday, while Higginshaw head to second-in-the-table Brighouse Rangers.
