Ashworth’s depleted side grinds out crucial win

NETBALL: OLDHAM edged a thrilling North-West Premier League clash 55-54 against local rivals Tameside.
In the previous game against them, Oldham won 74 to 37 - but Oldham, down on numbers, knew this was going to be a different game.
Already depleted, learned Victoria Austin was unable even to warm up due to a knee injury, leaving a team only nine.
But those who did play battled hard, and the local team led 42-40 going into the final quarter.
The match could have gone either way for the pressure was on both teams, with errors creeping in for
nervous Oldham
But after a tough and well-fought game, Oldham managed to hold on to the lead and won by the slightest of margins.
