FOOTBALL: ROYTON Town’s increasingly impressive campaign in the FBT Manchester League Premier Division continued with a comprehensive derby drubbing of Avro.
Mark Howard’s men – who remain second in the table – cruised to a 4-0 win courtesy of goals from Alan Beckett, Wayne Dean, Kyle Harrop and Craig Schumann.
Springhead’s title hopes suffered a blow as they lost 3-1 at fellow high-fliers AFC Monton.
At the bottom end of the table, basement side Uppermill’s torment continued with at 4-0 loss at Hindsford.
AFC OLDHAM lost out by the odd goal in seven against visitors Mellor reserves in Division Two of the Lancashire and Cheshire League.
