TERRY Qualters scored the only goal of the game as Failsworth Dynamos returned to the top of the Lancashire Amateur League’s Premier Division.
On a bitterly cold and snow-hit afternoon at Failsworth Soccer School, Wayne Kennedy’s side ground out their 14th win in a row – that may be crucial in reclaiming the title they first won four years ago.
Former Latics man Phil Salt showed his class for Dynamos, but it was his midfield counterpart Tony Ellis whose appetite to win every challenge was the key factor in this latest win.
The only goal of the game came at the midway point of the first half when Qualters was perfectly
positioned to turn home a Barry MacDougall cross from eight yards out. It was a pivotal strike from Qualters and Dynamos’ fate may well be all but decided in the next few weeks.
