Final awaits gutsy Mossley
Date published: 11 February 2016
MOSSLEY’S amazing recent run in the Manchester Premier Cup continued last night as they reached their fourth final in five years.
The Lilywhites, who won the county FA trophy in 2012, 2013 and last year, beat Evo-Stik League rivals Trafford 2-0 at Seel Park.
The hosts were good value for their semi-final win. In a battling display, they had Tom Dean on target after half an hour, with substitute Dougie Carroll making it two 18 minutes from the end.
Lilywhites player-boss Peter Band said: “I’m really pleased because it gives the players another great occasion to look forward to.”
Mossley will face Tameside neighbours Stalybridge Celtic in the final at a place and date to be decided
