Heyside grab gritty cup win

HUDDERSFIELD League high-fliers Heyside eased into the second round of the Huddersfield FA Challenge Cup as they won 2-1 at Berry Brow.
Heyside started the game well, and an early move involving Jordan Hindley, Chris Ollerton and Mark Hopwood saw the latter slide wide from close range.
A Johnny Pauley free-kick was fired straight at the goalkeeper, but that came shortly after Berry Brow had gone ahead against the run of play in the 25th minute.
It was on the stroke of half-time when Heyside drew level. A clever free-kick routine led to Hopwood feeding Ollerton, who stabbed home from close range.
Heyside deservedly took the lead when Hopwood broke down the left and crossed for Ollerton to volley home from six yards.
In the late stages the home side rallied, forcing a number of late corners, but some resolute defending and a great late tip over the bar from Jack Suttie saw the local side hang on for a deserved passage into the next round, where they face a crunch derby tie at home to Diggle.
Diggle won in Division One, 3-2 at Skelmanthorpe.
