FOOTBALL: HEYSIDE entertain Diggle tomorrow at Crompton House School (1.45pm) in the first of two local derby matches.
Tomorrow it’s the quarter-finals of the Barlow Cup, with round two of the Huddersfield FA Challenge Cup taking place on Saturday week.
Heyside are the favourites to progress in each of the two ties, given their lofty status in the First Division of the Huddersfield League. They also beat Diggle 4-0 in the league earlier in the season.
But Heyside manager Geoff Howard doesn’t want to appear over-confident, despite boasting an 18-month long unbeaten record at home.
Howard said: “I don’t want to shoot myself in the foot, but we fancy ourselves at home given our record, as long as we do what we can do.”
