Lilywhites facing moment of truth

NOTHING short of six points from two games over Easter will do for Mossley as their Evo-Stik League Division One North play-off hopes dwindle fast.
The Lilywhites won 2-1 at Farsley last weekend to end a three-game losing streak, but results elsewhere on Tuesday meant the Seel Park men are now 12 points shy of the top five, with only nine games remaining.
Mossley host relegation-threatened Harrogate Railway Athletic tomorrow, before a crunch trip to third-placed Glossop North End beckons on Monday (both 3pm kick-offs).
Joint-boss Peter Band said: “We’ve drifted out of the reckoning and it’s the start to the season that’s done us again.
“The same thing happened last season when a slow start left us with a bit too much catching up to do.
“We need to get six points this weekend realistically. While we’re still in with a mathematical chance of getting into the play-offs, we’ll just keep going.
Band and fellow joint-boss Lloyd Morrison have a full-strength squad available again. Front men Dougie Carroll and Godwin Abadaki have recovered from injury, as has talented defender Caldon Henson.
CHADDERTON will hope to hit back from the midweek 2-1 loss at Litherland REMYCA as they also face an Easter double header in the North-West Counties League First Division.
The local outfit head to play-off chasing Ashton Town tomorrow, before
welcoming second-bottom Atherton LR to Andrew Street on Monday (both 3pm kick-offs).
