NON-LEAGUE FOOTBALL: MOSSLEY’S Peter Band has revealed he and fellow joint-manager Lloyd Morrison are already making plans for next season.
The Lilywhites have five games left to play and the play-off positions appear too far out of reach - the side is currently 11 points adrift of fifth-placed Burscough - whom they play tomorrow.
Band said: “Lloyd and I have already started thinking about next season. We’ve spoken to a few potential new players, while some of our current fringe players will get a chance over the remaining few games.
“It’s partly about keeping things fresh, but also through necessity.
“We’ll be giving a few players an opportunity to shine, and they need to take that with both hands.
“There is still plenty to look forward to despite us falling out of contention for the play-offs.
“The team played really well against Northwich and we’ve still got the Premier Cup final to come against Stalybridge (at Hyde United’s ground) on April 26.”
CHADDERTON complete a tough week tomorrow as they host North-West Counties League First Division high-fliers Barnton. Mid-table Chaddy lost to league leaders Hanley Town in midweek, and now face a Barnton side who are third in the standings, pushing hard to sneak into one of the two automatic promotion places.
