CEC WRIGHT: first ball for the new league
THE first action in the JW Lees Bitter Pennine Cricket League is on Saturday week, when the champions of the Central Lancashire League, Norden, meet their Saddleworth League counterparts, Saddleworth, for the Charity Cup at Milnrow (12.45pm start).
Local league legend Cec Wright, who continues to turn out for Uppermill as part of his six decades of competitive criket, will bowl the first over.
