MOSSLEY joint-boss Peter Band is determined not to let their Evo-Stik League Division One North campaign fizzle out with a whimper.
The Lilywhites will close the campaign in mid-table after being in the hunt for the play-offs until recently.
They have a home clash tomorrow against fellow mid-table outfit Farsley Celtic, before rounding off the season with a Manchester Premier Cup final appearance against Stalybridge Celtic at Hyde on April 26.
Band said: “We’ve fallen away recently with a few unfortunate defeats, but we want to win all our
remaining games now. We don’t want the season to simply tail off before we go into the cup final against Stalybridge.
“We’ve been unlucky recently, but we’ve played three of the top four sides in our last three games and lost 3-2 twice and 3-1 against Spennymoor the other night. Tom Pratt could have scored five on his own against Spennymoor.
“Mistakes have been costing us dearly, and recently it has been no different. We have missed that bit of quality here and there, too.
“Hopefully it’ll be a decent game against Farsley. They’re in a similar situation to us. They were in the hunt for promotion for a long time but have just dipped lately.
“Some of our lads are running on empty at the moment, but we still need to put on a bit of a show for our fans in the remaining two home games.”
CHADDERTON wil be looking to bounce back from their midweek defeat at high-flying Barnton in the North-West Counties League First Division. Tomorrow Chaddy host Stockport Town, who appear destined to feature in the end-of-season play-offs.
