BEN WHITEHEAD . . . late try
SADDLEWORTH Rangers impressed in taking the scalp of second-placed Bradford Dudley Hill in the Second Division of the Kingstone Press National Conference League.
The final score was 32-24, but this was a contest that was hard-fought right up until the dying seconds.
Rangers, hunting down a fourth league win of the season, only held a 25-24 lead when Dudley Hill’s Ryan Dickinson crossed in the 66th minute for a try which was converted by Daniel Softley.

But Michael Diveney’s drop goal put the hosts a further point ahead before Ben Whitehead’s 75th-minute try, which he added the goal to, finally made the game safe.
The visitors made a good start, establishing an 18-12 half-time lead thanks to tries by Martin Southwell,
Rangers’ responses were from Ollie Kerr and man-of-the-match Josh Bradbury, Whitehead kicking a pair of goals.
Tom Robinson’s try for the home side was again added to by Whitehead, who scored a field goal for a 25-18 lead before Rangers closed the contest out.
