FOOTGOLF has arrived in town and former England and Manchester United star Paul Scholes has given the exciting new game the thumbs-up.
Old Trafford legend Scholes was at the Oldham Golf Club to help launch the new sport, which is a combination of football and golf as players kick a size-five soccer ball towards large-sized cups on the greens.
Scholes was clearly impressed after playing two holes alongside four young footballers from Springhead FC.
He told the Chronicle: "I had heard about footgolf before, and it is good, I really enjoyed it.
"The kids seemed to be enjoying and if you're into both football and golf, it's ideal.
"To be honest I think I'll bring my kids to try it. I think they'll love it."
