League passes on gongs

THE Oldham Amateur League has praised clubs in the borough through their annual awards.
Wayne Hubbard was presented with the 'Unsung Hero Award' for his his outstanding work in setting up and running Limehurst Lions.
He received his gong from the league's vice-chairperson Anita Halliwell.
Rugby league stalwart of Oldham, Fred Halliwell, picked up yet another prestigious honour.
He received the Billy Webb Trophy from league secretary Phil Bradbury after Hollinwood were named 'Club of the Year'.
Hollinwood managed to fulfil every one of their Pennine League fixtures despite, on occasions, not being able to field a full complement of players.
John Hughes, of Fitton Hill Bulldogs, collected the Bernard Flanagan Trophy from Anita Halliwell for the tremendous support he has given to the league.
