Woman arrested for fraud and driving with no licence or insurance
Date published: 22 January 2018
A woman was arrested for six counts of fraud, driving with no licence and no insurance, and the vehicle she was using was seized on Sunday morning.
A police spokesperson said: “There are still further enquiries to be made as more incidents have come to light later today.
“The female was not genuine, and it was ploy to obtain money from people, some being elderly and vulnerable. Some of the incidents were at 3.30 am in the morning.
“If anybody has been a victim or has CCTV of any of these incidents today, please call 101 and report them.
“Please do not open the door to any one you do not know or give money. If in doubt keep them out and call the Police.
"PC Slater [the arresting officer] would also like to thank the off duty officer who detained the female until the police arrived.”
