Police are investigating after a car smashed through a fence into a Failsworth pub’s beer garden - just yards from a children's play area.

No-one is believed to have been injured during the collision next to the Windmill pub yesterday afternoon (Thursday).

Witnesses reported seeing armed police scrambling to the scene on Lord Lane, alongside police dog units.

The car - an Audi saloon - is believed to have swerved off the road and smashed through panels of the beer garden’s fencing, next to the pub building.
