Tributes have been paid by the family of a woman who sadly died in Chadderton.

Shortly before 12.30pm on Saturday, May 26, police were called by the ambulance service to the concern for the welfare of a woman on Argyll Road.

Officers attended and found the body of a woman, who has since been formally identified as 55-year-old Jacqueline Smith.

The results of a Home Office Post Mortem examination were inconclusive, however.

Jacqueline’s family has paid tribute to her, saying: “We have lost our beautiful daughter, sister, aunty and best friend Jacqueline Smith.

“She always had a smile on her face and contagious laugh that made everyone smile.

“She has left a huge hole in our hearts that we will never replace.

“Our heart breaks knowing we will never see you again, but you will always be in our thoughts - sleep tight -  from your family.”
