A joint Police and Fire Service investigation has been launched after two people were rescued from a flat fire in Oldham.
Firefighters from Oldham and Chadderton attended the scene, while a Greater Manchester Police statement later read: "Shortly after 2am on Thursday, May 31, 2018, police were called to reports of a fire on Huddersfield Road, Oldham.
"The fire service attended and the fire was quickly brought under control.
"A man and a woman, believed to be in their 20s, were treated for smoke inhalation.
"A joint investigation into the circumstances with Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service has been launched and enquiries are ongoing."
