Police were called to the junction of Moston Lane East and Broadway
It’s thought to centre around the Chadderton area, however precisely where hasn’t been revealed.
In a post on social media, the force has asked for anyone with information about the plans to contact them as soon as possible and said that extra patrols will be taking place in the area this evening.
It was less than a week ago when a teenage boy was stabbed in Chadderton, however it’s not known if this planned altercation is linked in any way to that incident.
A statement on Greater Manchester Police’s Chadderton Twitter account said: “There have been rumours that a fight is going to take place tonight in the Chadderton area, if anyone has any information please contact us direct message or contact 0161 856 8825.”
“Additional patrols have been allocated to the area.”
