Police in Oldham say they want to talk to an Asian man in connection with an incident during the early hours of Friday morning (August 31) in an underground walkway.
Officers were alerted to the incident after a woman made her way down the walkway on Featherstall Road near Aldi between 5am and 6am.
She was approached by a man in the subway and was asked for a hug before the man grabbed her arm.
Police say they are now searching for an Asian male aged in his late 20s or early 30s, about 5ft 4in tall and of medium build with short dark hair.
He was wearing a long white tunic and trousers with a black leather jacket.
In a statement on Greater Manchester Police Oldham’s Facebook page, they said: “A lone, young female was approached by a male in the subway on Featherstall Road, Oldham, near to the Aldi store between 05.00hrs and 06.00hrs.
“The male asked the female for a hug and grabbed her arm.
"This obviously scared the female and she reported this to the police.”
