Two men have been charged in connection with a hate crime in Manchester city centre.

Luke Jones, aged 27, of Keston Crescent, Brinnington, and Ryan Gould, aged 28, of no fixed address, have both been charged with a public order offence and two counts of section 47 assault.

They have been remanded in custody and will appear later today (Friday) at Manchester and Salford Magistrates’ Court.

At around 2.10pm on Monday, August 20, police received a report that two women and their young children – a three year-old girl, a five-month-old baby in a pram and a ten-year-old girl in a wheelchair with severe disabilities – were attacked and abused.
