Companies from across the borough and beyond are being invited to a special event designed to find new suppliers for Oldham Council and its key partner.

The information and networking event, at Chadderton Town Hall tomorrow (Tuesday), will give companies a chance to meet buyers from both the council and partner company, Unity Partnership.

Attendees will be able to find out more about the council’s tendering process and its procurement framework as well as asking questions of key decision makers about what they are looking for from suppliers.

The areas of focus are: building repairs, maintenance, roofing, groundworks, landscaping, mechanical and electrical works, lift servicing, fire alarms, security and CCTV, asbestos and legionella, fire extinguishers, fire signage, highways, road marking and bridges as well as commercial services and management.

Cllr Abdul Jabbar, Deputy Leader of Oldham Council, said: “Many businesses ask me ‘How do I become a supplier?

“Well, quite simply, this is a great chance to find out.

"The event will bring together a range of people from across our organisation to explain the process of how you can do that.

“There are a range of opportunities available across a wide range of service areas so it’s an event not to be missed.”

The event was the brainchild of Unity Partnership director, Cllr Peter Dean, and takes place at Chadderton Town Hall, Middleton Road, Chadderton, Oldham. OL9 6PP, between noon and 2pm tomorrow.

There is expected to be a lot of interest in this event, so to guarantee your place to meet the teams please complete the registration form on ‘The Chest’, Oldham Council’s supplier portal or, if you are not yet a member, by emailing:  jay.thind@oldham.gov.uk
