Oldham Hollyoaks star Malique Thompson-Dwyer had fans screaming and swooning during hectic visits back to Oldham College and Oasis Academy this morning (Friday).

Malique, aged 20, visited his former school Oasis Academy first with his management team, then sent the girls crazy during an inspirational question and answer session at the College where he studied BTEC Performing Arts until he secured the role of Prince McQueen on Channel 4 soap Hollyoaks in 2016.

His casting as Prince McQueen has catapulted Hollinwood-based Malique heavily into the spotlight, and since his appearance at the recent Inside Soap Awards bash, speculation has been rife that ITV bosses are targeting him to appear on flagship winter show ‘I’m a Celebrity, Get me out of here’.

Star Malique, who has now been short-listed in the ‘Best Serial Drama Performance’ category in the forthcoming National Television Awards, enjoyed every minute of his whistlestop school and college tour today.

He said: “It’s been great seeing all the young students, and how excited they are at seeing me.

“It’s been a pleasure. I’ve got good memories of school and college. I met a lot of good friends there.

“I learnt a lot at Oasis Academy Oldham, it is where I developed as an actor.

“To go back was a fantastic experience and brought back lots of memories.”

Malique certainly has a bright future in the world of entertainment, and he’s an ambitious young actor.

He added: “I’m already thinking about trying to get myself over to America.

“I’ve been learning my American accent as well, too.

“Everything in my career is coming along nicely at the moment.”

You can vote for Malique as he bids to win the coveted ‘Best Serial Drama Performance’ category at the National Television Awards.

Voting is open until 11:00pm today (Friday).
