Two charged with murder after Ashton shooting

Two men have been charged with murder and attempted murder following a fatal shooting in Tameside back in June.
Twenty-two-year old Jay Cornforth, of Ashton Old Road, Manchester and 26-year old Charlie Atkinson, of Stamford Drive, Tameside, have been charged with murder and attempted murder and have appeared before Magistrates in Manchester on Friday (November 9).
It is in connection with an incident at around 4.50pm on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 when police were called to reports that a man had been shot on Birch Street.
Luke Paul Graham, aged 31, was taken to hospital where he sadly died from his injuries.
Another man in his 20s presented himself at hospital later that day with a gunshot wound to his leg.
He was discharged from hospital following treatment.
A total of ten people have been arrested in connection with the investigation into Luke’s death.
Six have since been charged with murder and attempted murder.
