It was at around 3.25pm when officers responded to Ladhill Lane, near to Greenfield Cricket Club, following reports that a man had been threatened with a gun and assaulted.
Further investigation work then led police to two addresses close by where they are understood to have found Class A and B drugs along with a firearm.
Two men and a woman have been arrested and remain in custody for questioning on suspicion of assault and drugs-related offences.
Chief Inspector John Haywood, of Greater Manchester Police’s Oldham Borough, said: “Following reports of a serious assault in Greenfield yesterday afternoon (Friday 16 November) officers swiftly responded and carried out enquiries in the local area which resulted in the arrest of two men and two women as well as a seizure of class A, class B drugs and a firearm.

“We will be continuing with our enquiries, but I want to thank the public for their continued patience and support.”
