Man left in serious condition after pub attack

Police investigating an assault at a pub in Denton have released images of a man they want to speak to in connection with the incident.

Police were called shortly after 9.20pm on Saturday, November 24, to a report that a man had been punched at the Jolly Hatters pub on Town Lane, Denton.

The victim, a man in his 30s, was taken to hospital where he remains in a serious but stable condition.

It is believed that a fire extinguisher was sprayed at the victim shortly before he was assaulted.

Police have released an image of a man they want to speak to in connection with the incident.

Detective Constable Lee Maiden of GMP’s Tameside Division said: “This is an assault on a member of the public that has left him in a serious condition in hospital and we urgently need to speak to the man pictured.

“Our thoughts remain with the victim and his family at this difficult time.

“This assault took place in a busy pub environment and we’re sure there are people who can assist us with our enquiries.
