Officers received calls from a number of residents in Failsworth
Greater Manchester Police have been forced to move on “large groups of youths” after it was reported that they were engaging in anti-social behaviour across parts of Oldham including damaging property.
It was during the evening of Saturday (December 1) when officers received calls from a number of residents in Failsworth complaining that the gangs were running in front of vehicles on Oldham Road.
It’s been reported some of the kids involved weren’t from the Failsworth area, with Police in Oldham saying they recognised some from Chadderton, Moston and Limeside.
Residents complained the group were “extremely intimidating”, with officers spending much of the night moving them on and attempting to control their behaviour.
A statement on GMP’s Failsworth and Hollinwood Facebook page said they were “also dealing with an armed robbery and personal robbery.”
“We are appealing to parents who suspect their children may have been involved to have a conversation about personal safety and consequences of actions."
