The Met Office has issued a Yellow Weather Warning for Greater Manchester with the threat of snow and ice, which could cause problems on the roads and public transport network as well.
It’s expected to hit the region from midday on Tuesday until around the same time on Wednesday.
In addition to the threat of snow and ice, freezing temperatures are also being predicted with the high not expected to be above 2 degrees in Oldham on Tuesday.
Wednesday is expected to be even colder with the high in Oldham not expected to get above freezing with the low being minus 5 Celsius.
Experts are warning people to take care on the region’s roads with black ice a possibility along with snow and freezing rain.
Once the Yellow Weather Warning ends on Wednesday it will remain cold for the rest of the week with more snow being predicted on Friday before it brightens up over the course of the weekend.
