Are you ready for this year's Colour Blast?

Date published: 23 July 2019

Dr Kershaw’s staff and volunteers are gearing up to stage its annual Colour Blast event on Sunday, September 22 in Alexandra Park.

The event, now in its fifth year, is a fantastic fun way to raise valuable funds for patient care at Dr Kershaw’s Hospice.

Participants can run, jog or walk at their own pace around a 3km route in Alexandra Park while being showered with a variety of different coloured paints, crossing the finishing line wearing all the colours of the rainbow!

This year’s event is going ‘back to the 80s’ with a pre-race 80s themed party hosted by Revolution 96.2.

Entrants are also encouraged to wear 80s fancy dress.

Lillie Winterbottom, Community Events Fundraiser, said: "The event is all about having fun while raising money for Dr Kershaw’s.

"You can run, walk, or stroll on your own, as a family or with friends and colleagues.

“Tickets can be bought online with early bird prices available until July 31 at £13 per adult and £7 per child, which includes a t-shirt, pack of colour and that all-important sponsor form.

“As well as getting involved with this amazing family fun day, Dr Kershaw’s encourages all Colour Blasters to help support the care of patients at the Hospice by raising money through sponsorship.”

The event starts with registration from 11.30am, followed by the pre-race party at 12.30pm and the Colour Blast race at 1pm.
