The tap room at Donkeystone Brewery
Donkeystone Brewery have won planning permission to open a tap room at their premises in Greenfield, so they can welcome customers to try their beers.
Oldham council approved their plans at a meeting on December 18th, but with a number of stringent restrictions imposed on the tap room’s operation.
These include regulations on opening times and no drinking or eating being allowed outside the building.
The tap room will be open every Thursday, Friday and Saturday 12pm to 6pm for locals and visiting tourists to sample its range of crafted ales.
Steven James, a director of Donkeystone said: "We ended last year on a high with this news.
"Successful breweries are the ones where you can connect with your customers and offer them a way to sample your product.
"Without that a lot of breweries go by the wayside."
Donkeystone say they will be respectful to neighbours, after previous concerns and objections over noise, drinking and smoking in the area.
The brewery is also planning a number of exciting events for 2020. They won 5 SIBA awards in 2019.
The first event is the Manchester Beer Festival on 23rd January, where the brewery will be showcasing a range of its cask and keg ales which include two new beers.
The first is a collaboration beer that has been created and crafted by Donkeystone and Stubborn Mule brewery from Manchester.
The second is the brewery’s strongest beer yet, a Double American Red IPA at 7.4%ABV.
This will be available at the festival on the Keg bar and will be available from the brewery in keg and cans from the end of January.
These are the first of 10 new beers, that the brewery will release over the first 6 months of this year, with many more beers in the pipeline for the rest of the year also.
