11 arrested following Tulip protest

A total of 11 men and women were arrested for aggravated trespass after chaining themselves to the gates of Tulip in Ashton yesterday (Thursday).

Shortly after 3.30am police were made aware of a small demonstration taking place at Bow Street in Dukinfield.

The meat manufacturer had their trade disrupted while the demonstration was taking place. 

In a Facebook post, Smash Speciesism said: "We’ve taken over purposefully and without remorse because we have had enough.

"We’ve taken over because the animals have had enough.

"We’ve taken over because the planet has had enough." 

These are the people who were arrested:

Edith Sizer (aged 19) of no fixed abode has been charged with aggravated trespassing.

Emelia Seniek (20) of no fixed abode has been charged with aggravated trespassing.

Alan Guthrie (51) of Stamford Street, Millbrook Stalybridge has been charged with aggravated trespassing.

Els Rijke (42) of no fixed abode has been charged with aggravated trespassing.

Max Goodridge (22) of no fixed abode has been charged with aggravated trespassing.

Alicia Cobacho (32) of no fixed abode has been charged with aggravated trespassing.

Hannah Frost (18) of no fixed abode has been charged with aggravated trespassing.

Oliver Niedergries (25) of no fixed abode has been charged with aggravated trespassing.

Susan Schnebalen (27) of no fixed abode has been charged with aggravated trespassing.

Sally Proctor (52) of no fixed abode has been charged with aggravated trespassing.

Elena Cole (29) of no fixed abode has been charged with aggravated trespassing.

All 11 men and women were due to appear at Tameside Magistrates Court this morning.
