Blue Coat School doesn't have water today
Blue Coat School has closed today (6th March) and sent the pupils home.
In a statement on their website, they have confirmed that it's because they don't have any water.
"Unfortunately we are going to have to close the school today, 6.3.2020 as we have no water. United Utilities have been on site since 7.30am and the problem seems to be solely related to the school as surrounding areas have water. Without water we can’t provide the children with any food or toilet facilities so regrettably we have no alternative but to close.
"The year 7 school trip will carry on as normal and the pupils will be back at school for 3.20pm as planned.
"Year 13 exams will be cancelled and rearranged.
"All students will be set work via Bloodle and homework blocks so please ensure that they complete this.
"Any students that are struggling to get home we will be supported in the hall until they can make any arrangements."
It's reportedly casuing some traffic in the area.
